Nutrition

Nutrition and our Health

We have all become familiar with the quotes "We are what we eat", and "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food" by Hippocrates. These quotes could not be further from the truth. In our society there have been so many different dietary theories and trends over the past 50 years. The low fat diet was big in the 80's, but that didn't work, too much sugar and carbs. There was the Atkins diet around 2000, which was the complete opposite of the low fat diet...high fat low carb...resulting in acidosis in the body due to the consumption of animal meat and cooked fat. Around 2010 the Raw Food Diet was the new hype, this seemed to work better because it was more plant based, whole food based and eating foods in their natural state. The challenge with the Raw Diet is it does take some education to make it sustainable, but it does help with more serious health conditions, especially those with food allergies. Now the trend is Keto, which can be benificial if one can keep the diet balanced to prevent over acidity.
The is so much confusion around what is the best diet. But it is not about diet, it is about lifestyle. Plus what works for one person may not work for another, we all have our own bio-indivuality. I personally played around with a lot of diets trying to find a way to feel better. It wasn't until I changed my lifestyle and educated myself did the real transformation occur.

Living Food Nutrition

There is a saying, if you want to feel alive, eat living food. Raw foods in their natural state are loaded with nutrients and living enzymes. These enzymes are the key. When we cook our food, we destroy the enzymes and a large portion of the nutrients. This is why it is so imortant to eat some living foods everyday. Learning some creative ways to prepare living food meals can make all the difference.
Some people can adopt a lifestyle of a 100% raw food diet, and some cannot. There should not be stress around trying to eat a certain way. It should be enjoyable, something is better than nothing.

Keto Nutrition

The Ketogenic Diet is being widely studied to help with many health concerns. We live in a society where there is an aboundance of high carbohydrate and sugary foods. The Keto approach has helped get blood sugar under control and is being greatly researched in the cancer industry. The concept is that cancer feed on sugar, so when the the sugars and carbs are removed, the is nothing to the cancer cells to feed on. This greatly weakens the cancer cell making the therpies much more effective.
Having a brother who was a 16 year brain cancer survivor, Kendell spent years researching more integrative cancer therapies and nutrition. The key to this nutritional approach was an alkaline, high nutrient, low sugar/carb diet.

Sustainable eating

Once upon a time, an entire village would raise a single cow. It would live and eat in a natural environment, getting its nutrients form the rich grasses and fertile soil. When it was time, there would be a sacred ceremony for the animal, thanking it for its sacrefice. This one animal would feed the people for a season. They would also use every bit of the animal, using the bones for broths, the hide for clothing. etc. In todays society, heards of animals are living toxic living conditions, sick and in fear. Farm raised fish, are living in unsanitary waters and fed foods similar to kibbles that are fed to dogs. The raising of animals in this way causes destruction to the environement and ecosystem. These animals are inhumanely slaughtered, the "best" parts of the meat sent to the market. Half this meat goes bad before being sold. There is an energetics in food, you are what you eat.
Only eat sustainable or wild caught animal products... Or do not eat them at all. For optimal health, do not eat more than 15% animal products, this includes fish, poulty, and beef.
